First , i like to apologise for the bad quality as for some reason blogger does not upload any videos and so have to use YouTube who also take a life time to upload so have reduced this for quality. Also i had to add more music on top of original as i was informed it was in violation of copy wright , so forgive me.
Anyway, the main photos are here that show the Achilleon Palace in Corfu, Greece. As part of an Island tour this is included in your coach tour which is why i highly recommended it with an excellent tour guide to explained the sad story of Empress Elisabeth of Austria, and her obsession with Achilles.

if you really want to explore some12-15 beaches and caves, then hire a boat for the day, take your trunks towel, water ,snack and condoms!!

You can here "we all live in a yellow submarine" playing all day for miles,
A bit irritating after a few days!!!

People taking photos outside restaurant, buy the way further up is a cake/bakery shop which make real bean coffee and lovely chocolate fudge and walnut cake is nice too-great views from there too.

Olive trees way to Lakones

As you see, in the video, i pause halfway to show you one of the ways to Lakones. there are several paths some longer than others but this one is through olive trees. Don't forget to take lots of water, and maybe an apple, most important a camera to take photos of views on the way and at the top. I will post my photos.
Once you reach the top you will come to the mail road, keep going up but do be careful of cars and coaches-- you will get use to this through out Corfu and the other islands, pedestrians come second to the car, real same this as the best way to see this beautiful island is on foot- you notice flowers,trees wildlife,meet people,shop signs, so much more information you miss when you just whizz bye. because of the shade of olive trees its quite a cool trek.
Once there you will notice a big hotel-restaurant, i think its called the Golden Fox. There is a glass lift on the side-just walk up and in!!its quicker!!
Apparently, you can walk into any hotel ,take a dive in the pool, order a snack and sunbathe.
So i went and sat near the window and was blown away from the view- see photos. I ordered the place speciality dish called Partisca or something, basically its soft marinated beef with paster tubes, with a glass of red wine and fresh air, was wonderful- cost approx 12 euro, 8 without the wine , but i deserve it after a trek like that.
But if you don't fancy going on foot then i really do recommend the Island Coach tour, which also includes the fantastic Pontikoissi island, and Achilles Palace which you MUST visit-more photos and notes later.

Fotini Complex Hotel Corfu Holiday

I booked with Olympic Holidays, Fotini Complex Hotel.
What it does not tell you is that nearly all hotels are family run and you have to hike up a hill to get to it.
So whats wrong with that? Noting in fact it help me lose some baby fat around the waist. As long as you don't mind carrying 6 Lt's of water and shopping in heat of day up a step winding hill with buzz bikes and cars forcing you to give way. yes it was self service-never again. The hotel food and most restaurants serve chips and pizza and frozen fish!! So do ask before you order. my hotel was full of mancs-Manchester customers- who absolutely loved chips with everything, even Greek salad--sick!!For real food i recommend you ask locals.
